Creative Brief
The Situation
The Human Givens Institute wanted to create a central 'hub' website that would serve as a comprehensive platform for all human givens content and resources. They sought a high level of flexibility in the site's layout, ensuring a consistent user experience across mobile, desktop, and tablet versions, while allowing each to maintain its unique design. Additionally, they desired multiple layout options for the homepage and the ability to embed flexible content blocks within internal pages throughout the site.
The Solution
Great care, thoroughness, and attention to detail were applied to all digital design layouts through multiple revisions with the client. The typography, layout, and colour scheme were thoughtfully chosen to ensure web accessibility for a diverse audience. Given the extensive content spread across numerous pages, a sticky shortcut top navigation bar was implemented to enable quick access to the most important sections.
A carefully balanced colour palette was selected to complement the website's rich content, and a custom logo shortcut was optimised for more limited web real estate applications.
The Results
The streamlined layout seamlessly adapts to desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, offering an app-like experience that ensures smooth user interaction when navigating between sections and pages of the website. It incorporates design and interface elements such as a full-width inspirational scroll banner with curated content, keeping the site current with modern trends while providing a clean, user-focused interface free from unnecessary design elements.
To meet the client’s requirement for flexible content layout, we implemented client-configurable upsell blocks with customisable colour options, enabling easy promotion of books, courses, videos, and more.
What We Did
We developed a bespoke theme and carried out extensive Drupal development, incorporating Solr-powered faceted search for lightning-fast results. We implemented a location-based search feature for therapists, integrating Google Maps and Geo lookup, and ensured the therapist register met accreditation standards set by the UK's Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA). We also created a dedicated members area with subscription management, bespoke content queues for flexible content ordering and layout, and integrated social media. The site supports media-rich content, including images and videos, and we handled a full SEO migration. Additionally, we integrated Ontraport for seamless marketing automation.
